Italian Honed Slate Back Panels

37" by 37" honed slate back panels

No polished edges

£255

A back panel is a whole square piece of slate provided either with or without a cut out. This is sometimes used as a blanking panel to block off a chimney opening completely.

A 3 sided cut out would reduce the opening to the desired size (e.g. for an inset stove or gas fire. This is a popular option as no join lines are visible.

A 4 sides cut out is also possible and is sometimes used for a hole in the wall fire assembly.

Italian Honed Slate Slips and Headers

Cut to size

from £100

As an alternative to a back panel with a cut out, we can provide a cost effective option in the form of slips and a header.

Slips and a header can reduce the opening to the desired size (e.g. for an inset stove or gas fire.  These are usually supplied as 2 x slips which govern the height of the opening and 1 x header which goes across the top of the 2 slips and fills in the gap at the top.

Visible edges can be polished and chamfered as required.
